President William Ruto has challenged Foreign Affairs PS Korir Sing'oei and his team to enhance efficient communication between the Kenyan embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ruto made the remarks at an engagement forum in China on Wednesday, April 23, after a Kenyan working for the UN lamented over the time taken by the Ministry to respond to various projects that they were pushing for the country.
According to the UN employee, Kenya was at risk of losing out on some of the projects funded by China for Africa due to the slow response.
"We need to find a way to connect better around those opportunities that are available here for development in Africa," the UN employee expressed.
As a result, Ruto noted that the PS and the Ministry needed to pull up their socks in giving direction and making decisions on such matters.

"We need to improve the turnaround time for matters between the embassies and the headquarters," the Head of State remarked.
"PS Korir and your team, you need to pull up your socks so that wherever there are issues that require headquarters to provide direction or to engage in a certain manner, we can improve the efficiency."
Ruto is currently in China for a five-day visit to the Asian country. According to Ruto, Kenya is seeking to pursue partner deals for trade and infrastructural development.
For instance, he noted that Kenya was keen on securing partners who could undertake the Nairobi-Nakuru highway project.
