Charlene Ruto met with British actor Idris Elba at the sidelines of the EarthnaSummit2025 in Doha, Qatar.

In a statement dated Tuesday, April 22, she revealed that the actor posed a question to her as he sought to know how the voices of the young people can be amplified.

While she did not reveal her response to the question, she added that it was a great pleasure to engage with the actor whom she described as a legend.

"I admit I was a bit starstruck today meeting the legend himself, Idris Elba. His one question to me was - how can we amplify the stories and voices of young people?"

"My answer? Only he can tell you... It was such a pleasure!" Charlen wrote.

The EarthnaSummit2025 is a global event that brings together world leaders to promote concerted efforts for environmental, social, and economic sustainability and future prosperity.

In particular, the 2025 event focused on sustainability in hot and arid areas.

Following the post by Charlene, Kenyans on social media expressed their opinions regarding the engagement.

Some of the online users congratulated President William Ruto's daughter for using her platform to push for youth agendas.

"I know you've got a plan. We will win together as youth," Rodgers Koech posted on his X account.

On the other hand, others also expressed their concerns about how the youth's voices were not being taken into consideration by the Ruto government.

"The voices are loud. The cries are so loud that they need not be amplified. But who is there to listen? None," Bedan Kamau opined.
