Being a special and sacred Islamic ceremony, the bride was present at the event but was not paraded.
In attendance at the event were high-level luminaries, including Siaya senator Oburu Oginga and Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi.
"We were deeply honored by the presence of our leaders and friends, Hon. Dr. Oburu Odinga and Hon. Opiyo Wandayi, among other distinguished guests who joined us in celebrating this special day. It was a ceremony filled with love, joy, and heartfelt blessings. May Allah guide and sustain their home with peace, understanding, and endless happiness," Salah celebrated.

Oburu offered heartfelt advice to the newlyweds, encouraging them to support one another and remain resilient through the inevitable challenges of marriage.
Referring to himself as a father figure to Salah, Oburu said his words were meant as guidance to his “grandchildren.”
“This is a deeply meaningful day, and I’m truly glad to be part of it,” he said. “There are three defining moments in every person’s life: the day they are born, the day they marry, and the day they return to their Creator. We had hoped to mark this wedding with joy and celebration.”

With a touch of humour, Oburu playfully urged the couple to grow their family and reminded the groom that Islam permits polygamy, suggesting he consider marrying more wives in the future.
It was also at that moment that Oburu revealed the relationship Salah had with the late Raila.
The senator took a moment to reflect on Salah’s close relationship with Raila, noting that Salah had become a trusted companion during Raila's sunset days.
"Raila embraced him as a son. Salah stood by him during his treatment in Dubai and India, offering unwavering support," he said.
Now that Raila has passed on, Oburu declared that he had personally taken Salah in as his own son.
