Media personality Oga Obinna has announced the immediate suspension of all personal, one-on-one assistance to individuals seeking his help, citing persistent online defamation and malicious trolling.
In a notice released on Thursday, October 9, Obinna declared that he will no longer provide direct charitable interventions outside his foundation, effective immediately.
The decision comes after the comedian faced intense criticism from online users following the tragic death of Gengetone artist Shalkido, who passed away on Monday, October 7, after a motorcycle accident along Thika Road.
According to the statement, Obinna has halted all forms of personal assistance that he previously offered to Kenyans in need. The suspension affects various forms of help that the media personality had been providing on an individual basis.
"Oga Obinna is NOT: Giving personal or helping everyone, Obligated to respond to every request for assistance, Subject to blackmail, manipulation, or public pressure to give, Responsible for individual life circumstance beyond his voluntary help," the notice stated.

In a stern warning to bloggers and content creators, Obinna announced that he is prepared to pursue legal action against those spreading unverified or defamatory information about him.
"Individuals, bloggers, and content creators publishing unwarranted, unverified, or defamatory remarks will face legal action. We have tolerated baseless accusations long enough. Documentation is underway, and accountability will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law," the statement read.

The suspension follows backlash Obinna received after Gengetone artist Kevin Mburu Kinyanjui, known as Shalkido, died following a crash between Githurai and Carwash area, near Roysambu, and later succumbed to his injuries after being declared brain-dead at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital.
First responders found Shalkido with severe injuries in the early morning hours and rushed him to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit, where doctors discovered he had suffered internal brain bleeding in multiple areas, making the condition inoperable.
Obinna, who had been with the artist shortly before the accident and was the first to report on the incident, faced criticism from some social media users questioning his actions prior to Shalkido's departure.
The comedian had previously hosted the former Sailors Gang member on his YouTube show and had reportedly assisted him in acquiring the motorcycle for business purposes.
