1. Almanara Resort, Diani Beach
Since its official launch in December 2007, the resort has played host to some of the wealthiest politicians, business persons, and celebrities looking to take a break off their daily routine.
The luxurious resort has hosted President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, and English Football Club Tottenham Hotspur Boss Jose Mourinho.
In 2013, President Kenyatta and DP Ruto retreated to the resort to celebrate their win in that year's general election.
Mourinho spent three weeks at the facility with his family in July 2010.
The resort has a private haven, 6 villas, and a sizeable presidential suit. The villas have open-plan dining and living area with top-of-the-dollar furniture and three ensuite double bedrooms.
Those seeking total privacy are adviced to go for the presidential suite and can have a private chef if they don't wish to cook.
Almanara states that rates are availed upon request with a three-day minimum stay, and a one-week minimum stay during peak seasons.
A source at the resort revealed that the cost of hiring a single villa could be as high as Ksh300,000 a night, depending on the season.
2. Kola Beach Resort, Malindi
The exclusive Kola Beach Resort is among the leading holiday destinations and a fan favorite of many, including celebrities in the country.
Renowned media personality Jeff Koinange on January 9, 2018, live on Hot 96 FM breakfast show professed his admiration for Malindi and Kola Beach Resort in particular.
The resort is located 20 kilometers North of Malindi Town. Jeff described it as spectacular.
"Once you drive in it's like you are in a little sanctuary, perfect place," Jeff stated.

The Kola Beach Resort is completely Italian-themed, to the extent that the employees, including natives, converse in fluent Italian.
"Every guy there, from Naomi the manager, she is Kamba, Safari is Giriama... all of them speak fluent Italian," Jeff stated.
"The pool is right outside your door, Jamal (his son) is just there playing ball. The beach is just amazing, fantastic place," Jeff reminisced.
The resort adopts a touch of Italian culture and native culture. It serves no buffets, neither are there flat-screen television sets nor plain pool towels in patrons' rooms. They maintain a rather unique touch with fine Italian dining for meals and kikoy towels.
Most guests who frequent the resort prefer to spend their nights outdoors gazing at the sky.
