Makueni County Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr is arguably one of the youngest and most influential leaders in the country.

His role as Makueni Senator and his contribution at the Senate endeared him to Kenyans. In November 2020, Senator Mutula Jr was ranked best performing senator in the country by Infotrak Research.

While campaigning for the Makueni gubernatorial seat, many Kenyans for the first time got to meet his wife Anita Mutula.

Anita wowed Kenyans with her supportive nature and dedication towards ensuring her husband wins the gubernatorial contest.

But who is Anita Mutula?

With the inauguration of Mutula Kilonzo Jr as Makueni Governor, Anita officially became the Makueni County First Lady.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Anita noted that as the new Makueni First Lady, her priority areas will be; early childhood development, maternal healthcare, environmental conservation, and youth rehabilitation among others.

Anita is a mother of two and a distinguished communications professional. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and Tourism from the University of Nairobi.

According to information on her Instagram and LinkedIn pages, she is the founder and Managing Director of Triple T Communications Ltd.

She also runs a foundation dubbed Anita Mbinya which has been instrumental in supporting the youth and other vulnerable members of the county.

Mutula Kilonzo Junior was elected Makueni Governor after garnering 214,088 votes on the Wiper Democratic Movement party ticket.

The Immediate Makueni senator defeated Patrick Musimba (Independent) who got 63,252 votes and David Masika of ODM party came third with 8,378 votes.

Emmanuel Mutisya (UDA) and Anderson Kaloki (Independent) had 2,929 and 843 votes respectively.
