While some eventually managed to win the hearts of voters and assume office in various capacities, it was unfortunate that some did not.

He was a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party MCA aspirant for Sambirir ward, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Bowen was involved in a road accident along Eldoret-Malaba road on May 7, and he was found lying on the road unconscious with injuries to his head and a broken leg.
He was rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Eldoret but unfortunately succumbed to the injuries.
Wesley Kibet Kogo
The budding politician was eyeing the Nandi Hills constituency MP seat on UDA ticket before he died in a road accident in Kangemi, Nairobi.
Kogo was heading to Kass FM studios on April 7 for a morning interview show before the unfortunate incident that claimed his life.
He died just a week before UDA held its party nominations on April 14.
Nancy Wanjala Mwashumbe
Mwashumbe died in a road accident along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway just a day after the death of Kogo.
Mwashumbe was on her way to her brother's funeral before she met her death near Voi, Taita-Taveta County, on Friday April 8.
She was eyeing the Chaani Ward MCA seat in Changamwe Constituency, Mombasa County on a UDA ticket. She was a retired teacher.
