Kenya now has the eighth most powerful passport in Africa and 73 globally in the latest ranking.
According to the 2023 Henley Passport Index Report released on Tuesday, January 10, the number of countries that Kenyans can visit or obtain visas on arrival increased to 73, one player higher than in the 2022 index report where it was ranked at position 72.
Kenya emerged eighth in Africa for a second year in a row after Seychelles, Mauritius, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, and Malawi.

Tanzania emerged in position 74 with Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi coming at number 78,83,93 respectively.
Somalia has the weakest passport in the Africant continent, allowing access to only 35 countries.
Japan tops the index rank worldwide with its citizens having visa-free access to 193 countries. Singapore and South Korea tied in the second place with their citizens having access to 192 countries each while Germany and Spain came in the third spot with access to 190 countries each.
