Arresting Raila Won't Work - Mutahi Ngunyi Warns Ruto Ahead of Raila's Demos

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has warned President William Ruto from arresting Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga.

Ngunyi in a statement said that will not work but at the same time challenged him to give it a trial saying it is worth testing the limits of our democracy.

"Dear Ruto, what happens after #MaandamanoThursdays and then Mondays? Will you do something or kill someone? Arresting Raila will not Work. But it is worth trying. You need to test the limits of our Democracy. It is just an experiment. Or is It?" Ngunyi posed.

Raila is set to lead his third demonstration this Thursday against the Ruto regime.

Ruto has labelled the demos as impunity.

He said the demos are not about the cost of living but about the August 9, elections.

Speaking to DW TV in Germany, the Head of State dismissed opposition protests and insisted that he won the election squarely.

"Unfortunately, six months after the election, my competitors decided to pick up and challenge the election, not in a court of law, not in any known jurisdiction, but to challenge my election in the streets with demonstrations.

The President acknowledged that although there was a crisis of commodity high prices like fertiliser, fuel and grain, his government was making effort to deal with it by importing grain from across the world.
