Five people have been confirmed dead in a tragic road accident that happened in Londiani, along the Kericho Highway.
Kenya Road Cross in a statement on the tragedy revealed that the accident occurred in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
The humanitarian organization said the accident involved a 14-seater Matatu and trailer.
The accident occurred after the Matatu rammed into the trailer. Ten people sustained injuries as a result of the accident.
"The scene of the accident was cleared by police. 10 casualties were evacuated to Molo and Londiani subcounty hospitals. Unfortunately, 5 people (4 men and 1 child) lost their lives," Kenya Red Cross stated.

The accident came at a time when the country is heading towards the festive season that is characterised by massive travel activities.
December is often hit with several cases of accidents as motorists race against time to travel from one area to the other.
3,609 people have lost their lives in road accidents in 2023, The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) data released this week indicated.
In 2022, at least 4,690 people lost their lives on Kenyan roads.
The number of deaths covered the months of January to October 2023.
NTSA said January recorded 379 fatalities, February had 340, March (389), April (357) and May had 340.
June recorded 439 fatalities, July -325, August -327, September- 338 and October had 330 cases.
