Following President William Ruto's directive to move all government services online, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has explained simple steps for applying the new generation plates through eCitizen. 

In a notice shared on Monday, January 22, NTSA announced that the application process has been made reduced to three simple steps. 

"To improve service efficiency, the process involved in the application of reflective number plates has been reduced to 3 simple steps," NTSA announced. 

"Motorcycle/motor vehicle owners will receive SMS notifications upon verification and approval of the applications," the safety authority announced.

How to Apply

Step 1

Log into the eCitizen account

Select NTSA service portal which is a new tab in the section.

Select the motor vehicle and click on view.

Step 2

Click motor vehicle services then reflective plate

Select plate type and counter collection office

Attach the required documents in one PDF format

Step 3

Scroll down and tick the declaration box then click preview

Submit to pay for reflective plate and click complete

Collection notification will then be sent via SMS

The new application process has been explained following the migration from the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS).
