Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that there are plans within the government to have him arrested.
Speaking during the launch of Martha Karua's People's Liberation Party on Thursday, February 27, Gachagua alleged that the latest plan was to be actualised last weekend.
He added that he was to be arrested following his remarks in Meru where he alleged that there was a plot to remove Chief Justice Martha Koome from office.
"The other day I said that they should leave Martha Koome or there would be consequences and they wanted to arrest me.
"I said that I was at home and there was tea. We can take it and go to the cells together. We must sacrifice. If we develop fear, where will Kenyans go?" Gachagua posed.

In response to the plan, Gachagua reiterated that he was not scared of being arrested given that he was only speaking of ills being committed by the government.
He also urged the opposition leaders not to fear and continue to fight for Kenyans.
"For our leaders who are being arrested, do not fear. Jails were built for men and women. Every day they are planning to arrest me. I want to say that the cells of today are made of bricks and have washrooms inside," he remarked.
"I was born where there is mud, therefore, these cells are an improvement to where I was born.
Notably, some leaders had called for the police and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to arrest Gachagua after he stated that Ruto would not be welcome in Meru should Koome be removed from office.
