On Monday NTSA announced that school transport vehicles are currently undergoing road safety compliance checks in various parts of the country.

The state agency noted that each school bus should have a functional speed limiter that is onboarded onto the NTSA Intelligent Road Safety Management System.

The authority also maintained that the driver of each of the vehicles must have the requisite DL class endorsement and a valid PSV badge.

Further, NTSA said the school vehicles should have a valid inspection certificate, valid Road Service Licence (RSL), functional seatbelts, and valid vehicle insurance.

"School administration MUST put in place measures to ensure full Compliance with the requirements of the Traffic Act and the PSV regulations," NTSA stated.
