Former President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in South Africa on Saturday ahead of the Country's General Elections. 

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday, May 25, ahead of the Country's upcoming General Elections on May 29, 2024.

Mr. Kenyatta was welcomed at the Oliver Tambo International Airport by High Commissioner Jane Ndurumo and officials from the African Union (AU).

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta arrives in South Africa. 

The African Union Commission (AUC) appointed Kenyatta to lead the African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) for the General Elections in South Africa.  

As the head of the AUEOM, Kenyatta will be leading a team of experts and observers who will be responsible for monitoring various aspects of the electoral process, including polling and the tabulation of results.

On 29th May 2024, about 28 million registered voters in South Africa will troop to their polling stations to elect a new leadership to lead the country for the next 5 years.
