Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo has reprimanded Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his latest outbursts decrying humiliation in government.
At every chance, the deputy president has spoken to the alleged ill-will of the government insiders who are plotting to dislodge him from the power mantle.
His mistake, he said, was calling for Mt Kenya unity and seeking reconciliation with former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Nyeri on Saturday, June 15, Gachagua told a roadside rally attendees that he was being despised by President William Ruto's insiders over his resolve to make up with the former president.
"The fights you are currently seeing are because I announced I want to reconcile with the former president, who is one of our own. The only mistake Uhuru made was bringing Raila Odinga to us. But when I saw the president working with Raila, I told myself it would be a misguided move to continue fighting Uhuru," said Gachagua.

Reacting to Gachagua's pronouncements, Kabogo argued they were ill-advised.
He pointed out that the deputy president had led the attacks against Uhuru, wondering what might have changed his (Gachagua's) heart lately.
The former county boss found it irrational for Gachagua to seek cover from his native region yet he had led the onslaught against Uhuru and those who are loyal to him.
"Stop taking us for fools. We may be shouting as you cartoon around us, but you will soon realise you are always wrong. You fight amongst yourselves, you don’t tell us but run to us crying and throwing in the tribe card, We are not that stupid. I’m not Uhuru’s mouthpiece, but without fear or favour, I say, respect him," fired Kabogo.
For a time, the deputy president has been calling for Mt Kenya unity, his efforts to rally the populous region behind him getting frustrated by leaders in the Kenya Kwanza faction.
In his clarion call, Gachagua has constantly argued that Uhuru would be instrumental in uniting the region ahead of its oncoming political maneuvers.
Besides Uhuru, Gachagua extended an olive branch to other Azimio leaders, Narc Kenya's Martha Karua and Jubilee Party's Jeremiah Kioni included.
Despite the deputy president's appeals to Uhuru, the former president has stayed mum and clear of politics, choosing to undertake his regional roles as elections observer and mediator in the Eastern DRC conflicts.
Gachagua is on record fiercely taking on Uhuru, whom he accused of persecution before the 2022 elections.
Further, the deputy president accused Uhuru of mismanaging the country and denting the economy to dilapidation.
