The Kenya Meteorological Department has cautioned of extreme low night-time temperatures in some parts of the highlands East of the Rift Valley, the southeastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley.
In a weather forecast report on Monday, July 15, the weatherman disclosed that night-time temperatures in the mentioned regions will go below 10°C for the next seven days.
"Average night-time (minimum) temperatures will be low (less than 10°C) over some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Rift Valley," Kenya Met stated.
The highlands East of the Rift Valley include the counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, and Nairobi.
On the other hand, the South-eastern lowlands include the counties of Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta.

However, the weatherman noted that high average daytime temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced in some parts of the Coast, North-eastern and Northwestern Kenya.
At the same time, the Met department intimated that rainfall is expected to continue over a few areas in the highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley and North-western Kenya.
The rest of the nation is expected to be dry.
Meanwhile, the weatherman disclosed that in the last forecast, night-time temperatures increased over some stations including Makindu, Narok and Meru and decreased over Kitui, Suba and Msabaha.
