Moi International Airport (MIA) has been recognized by the Airports Council International (ACI) as the best airport in Africa.
In a statement on Friday, September 27, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) announced that ACI awarded MIA for its outstanding customer service during a ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
MIA earned top honours in the category of best airport in Africa by size and region, specifically in the under 2 million passengers per year category.
"Airports Council International, the voice of world airports, has awarded Moi International Airport (MIA) in Mombasa for its excellence in customer service. MIA has been recognized as the best airport in Africa by size & region in the under 2 million passengers per year category.

"The award was presented to Mr. Abel Gogo, KAA's Regional Airport Manager in charge of MIA & the Coast region, during the ACI Customer Experience Summit & Exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia," KAA stated.
The authority noted that Moi International Airport was recognised through what is believed to be the most comprehensive passenger service benchmarking program.
KAA added that the recognition highlighted the airport's commitment to exceptional customer service.
"The recognition, done through what is considered to be aviation industry's most comprehensive passenger service benchmarking program, highlights Moi International Airport's commitment to exceptional customer service & enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers," KAA stated.
