Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has maintained that Kenya's relationship with the United States of America is between nations and not Presidents.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, November 26, in Nairobi, Mudavadi disclosed that the two nations have enjoyed good relations since Kenya gained independence.
The Prime CS noted that the U.S. has had many Presidents who have left office after the end of their tenure, but America's relationship with Kenya has thrived.
“Since 1964, how many United States presidents have been there and they have left office? Therefore, the relationship between Kenya and the United States is not about the president who is in office.
"These are two countries with good relations. When an elected president concludes their tenure, another one will take over. The relationship is between the nations and not presidents,” Mudavadi remarked.

Commenting on the Kenyan police's peacekeeping mission in Haiti, Mudavadi clarified that the troops are not in the Caribbean nation because of the U.S.
“The Kenyan police in Haiti are not there because of the United States of America. They are there because the United Nations gave a resolution saying that Haiti was in need of assistance to deal with criminal gangs and Kenya, alongside other nations, offered to help. The U.S. was one of the nations that offered to help with equipment,” Mudavadi stated.
His remarks come after Donald Trump made a comeback to the White House following his victory against Vice President Kamala Harris.
Harris, a Democrat candidate, had the support of outgoing U.S. president Joe Biden who bowed out of the presidential race.
During Biden's tenure, Kenya maintained a strong relationship with the U.S., marked by the signing of several bilateral agreements.
However, there were concerns that this relationship might be impacted by Trump's re-election.
It was during Biden's tenure that President William Ruto made a historic visit to the U.S. and was hosted at the White House.
