The Ministry of Public Service has announced a tender for the provision of medical and travel insurance for Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and senior government officials.
As detailed in the tender document, 192 government officials will receive several benefits for themselves, their spouses and some of the children under their care.
For the medical cover, the officials will enjoy an inpatient medical cover of Ksh10 million and an outpatient of Ksh300,000.
The government is also seeking to ensure that the CS and PSs have international travel insurance for 90 days a year.

A funeral benefit of Kshs.200,000 and Kshs.100,000 for the principal member and dependent respectively is also listed among the benefits being sought in the tender.
The officials will also enjoy a dental and optical cover of Ksh75,000 each.
"Apart from the doctors in the panels provided by the hospitals, the cover should allow members to consult doctors/ specialists of their choice," read the document in part.
"Covers optometrist consultations and eye examinations, spectacles, frames and contact lenses up to a limit of Ksh75,000."
Cover for political violence and terrorism and Flying Doctor's emergency evacuation will also be availed for the principal members.
"Transportation of a member from a hospital in one geographical region to another hospital where services are adequate which shall include and not be limited to treatment overseas is covered as per the benefit schedule," the Ministry added in the tender document.
"Medical emergency air rescue for transportation and transfer of injured member to a facility where adequate medical care will be provided to eligible members or dependents will be covered within the full inpatient limit."
