In the photos seen by NairobiLeo.co.ke, the Jubilee legislator can be seen cutting ribbons binding the television set, thus unveiling it.
The television appeared to be tuned into late Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli's final bow, indicating that the launch might have happened today, March 26, 2021.

The photos were viewed differently by netizens, with some castigating the act, while others made fun of the occasion.
Irate netizens called out the MP as being petty, advising that he should instead focus on launching developmental projects.
"You'll be surprised that the unveiling ceremony cost 3 times the price of the TV," a tweep stated.
One netizen, who alleges to be a student at Moi University-Main Campus, asked the MP to divert his energy to tarmacking the Cheptiret-Moi University Road which has been under repair for about two years.

Others, making fun of the incident, alleged that the MP might be initiating an online challenge, jokingly stating that they will launch their television sets soon.
A section argued that they could not judge the MP's actions without understanding the context, stating that his launch may have been justified.
In 2017, prior to that year's general election, Mishra, while campaigning promised to buy TVs for each household in his constituency.
