Deputy President William Ruto has said that he is ready to make peace with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at his Karen residence during a meeting with grassroots leaders from Kandara constituency, on Thursday, the second in command said he is ready to make peace without any conditions.
DP Ruto said the President is his boss and they were given a mandate by Kenyans to work for them but there are a few people who came in to incite and had him pushed to the sidelines.
“Yeye ni mdosi wangu, kuna watu wakora wamekuja hapo wakaweka fitina mpaka wakasema huyu deputy president uweke kando lakini mimi niko ready without condition any moment kwa sababu tulichaguliwa pamoja na wakenya na walitupatia majukumu ya kuendesha serikali ya Kenya,” said DP Ruto.

He went on to say that the people who had him pushed out of government should wait for the next general elections, adding that they cannot reap from a government they did not form.

“Wale wengine wenye wameleta fitina wangoje twende kwa uchaguzi. Huwezi kuja kudoea serikali haukuunda. Waende watafute vile tulienda kutafuta na watatukuta huko tukitafuta pia,” added the DP.
His remarks come a day after the leadership of the Catholic Church called for a truce between the DP and President Kenyatta.
The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops in a statement said that their feud was threatening the country’s peace.
They said their animosity was being projected by their supporters and its consequences will be bad.
“In a young democracy like ours, it is important that there is unity among the top leaders as this gives confidence to the people,” said the Bishops.
They added that “The public exchanges that are being witnessed are dangerous for the prevailing peace and tranquility in the Country and cannot be taken lightly.”
The Bishops offered to mediate between the two leaders.
