Addressing members of the public in Nyamira on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, the second in command challenged his competitors to declare their candidates early.

"Our competitors should style up. They should come up with their own programme, it is not enough to criticise the Bottom-up economic model. Please come up with yours or explain to us how trickle-down will work differently," He said.
The deputy president continued to tear into his competitors, alleging that they are riding on tribal parties.
He advised them to unite their parties and form a national party, arguing that the existing parties are dividing Kenyans along tribal lines.
"We are asking you with a lot of respect, please come up with a candidate so that we can compete.
"We want a competitive election so that the people of Kenya can have the best of their choice," DP Ruto stated.
The DP was in Nyamira where he continued to sell his economic agenda for the country as the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta heats up.
DP Ruto has been touring parts of the country where he has engaged members of the public on what he has accomplished with the Jubilee government while making pledges of what he will do if elected president.
His demands come at a time when ODM Leader Raila Odinga continues to tour the country in a bid to unite the country under his Azimio La Umoja initiative.
Though a section of Kenyans believe the former premier will contest the presidency in 2022, he is yet to officially declare his candidature.
OKA principals Musalia Mudavadi, Gideon Moi, and Kalonzo Musyoka announced that they will field a presidential candidate in next year's polls but are yet to settle on the coalition's flagbearer.
