Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has denied having power interruptions in some parts of the country.
This is after a statement alleged to have been made by the Company cited a technical hitch in its supply chain for the outages in some areas.
The statement indicated that two of its major lines had been affected by the hitch leading to the blackouts in some regions in the country.
"We would like to inform our customers that we are experiencing a power outage in parts of Nairobi, Rift Valley, Western Kenya and South Nyanza following a technical hitch that has affected two major lines supplying power to these areas," the fake statement read.

The fake statement further indicated that the power company was working on restoring the power back even as it appealed to the affected people to be patient.
"We would like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused and reassure them that our technical team is currently working to identify the root cause and restore power to the affected areas," the fake statement added.
Kenyans have now been urged to disregard the message and rely on official communications from KPLC that will often be shared on their social media handles.
