Rapper Julius Owino, popularly known as Juliani, has broken his silence after reports of his appointment as the Director of Entertainment in the Azimio coalition.
In a statement shared on his Twitter account on Tuesday, the musician said that the communication about the alleged appointment had not been communicated to him formally.
“I would like to clarify that this has not been communicated to me formally or otherwise. Therefore I would like to confirm that I am not employed or affiliated with any political party in Kenya or beyond,” he stated.
Juliani, however, said that even though he played roles in youth empowerment and championing social justice, it did not give him the luxury of distancing himself from the issues of governance.

He said that he was willing to join hands with political parties with a clear manifesto and agenda.
“I am willing to join hands with like-minded partners including political parties that have a clear manifesto and agenda focusing primarily on sustainable youth empowerment initiatives,” he stated.
Juliani said that his desired partner should address youth empowerment and unemployment, gender equality and fight against Gender Based Violence (GBV), ending extrajudicial killings, and a clear plan on environmental conservation.
He urged Kenyans to use wisdom while heading to the ballot and choose leaders who will bring change and avoid falling into the trap of being blinded by handouts.
Juliani asked politicians to shun from using the youth for their own selfish gains.
