In November 1978, Nthenge survived a road disaster in Maanzoni region, along Nairobi Mombasa road in which he lost his ten children and his first wife as he ferried them to school in Nairobi.
In one of his past interviews with a local daily, he said he wanted to be buried 4 feet, two feet above his wife, who died 41 years ago.
“If all goes according to plan, my beloved second wife Scholarstica will be buried two feet above me. I love them that much,” Nthenge told the Nation.
