A section of Kenyans have heaped praise on Citizen TV news anchor Yvonne Okwara and Eric Latiff of Spice FM and KTN News for their moderation in the presidential debate.
The two journalists were tasked with moderating the second tier of the debate, which was televised from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Nairobi on Tuesday night, July 26.
Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto turned up for the debate but his main challenger Raila Odinga of Azimio, whom he was to face off with, did not show up.
Ruto was tasked with responding to questions on the judiciary, debt, security, cost of living, and governance.
While the DP said seemed to blame some failures on the handshake and president Uhuru Kenyatta in the second term, he was at pains to explain why some contracts like SGR have never been made public.

Ruto also claimed that Arror and Kimwarer were stopped as a way of punishing him. He found himself between a rock and a hard place when Okwara asked whether the judiciary, DPP, and police could collude to punish him in the case.

A section of Kenyans commended Okwara and Eric for doing a great job in the moderation of the debate and displaying excellent skills in journalism.
Some netizens, who singled out Okwara, said that she was asking the Deputy President the right questions without biases or favoritism.
