Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has asked President William Ruto to allow Parliament to allocate funds for refreshments for participants in the countrywide rallies called by Azimio.
Speaking on Sunday, December 11, during a church service presided over by Ruto in Nyandarua County, Nyoro sarcastically claimed that despite being given enough security, the protestors needed to be given refreshments before returning home.
“Nakuomba rais wetu utupe ruhusa. Bunge ndio inatengeneza maneno ya utumizi wa pesa ya umma. Ukitupea ruhusa tuweke kitu kadogo. Ata wakienda kuandamana serikali iwe inawapea refreshments. Wanaandamana vizuri wanapewa kinywaji wanaenda nyumbani,” Nyoro said.
The MP further stated that he has been a close ally of the Head of State, maintaining that Ruto is not a man to be cowed by demonstrations.
Nyoro asked Azimio leader Raila Odinga to look for another person to threaten with the Azimio protests, but not the president.

“Huyu rais wetu William Ruto mimi nimekaa na yeye kwa karibu. Aki Raila tafuta mtu wa kutisha. Huyu ndume huwezi mtisha na maandamano,” Nyoro said.
His remarks come after Azimio called off planned parallel Jamhuri Day celebrations, citing prior engagements by leaders of the coalition party.
Raila, who is on a tour of the United States, said that he did not cower by calling off the rally, stating that he had got an invite by the US government to attend an African summit.
"I cancelled the Jamhuri day rally after I got an invitation by the US Govt to travel to the US tomorrow for the US-Africa Summit. Some people are now saying that I was cowed. I do not fear any human being. I only fear God," Raila said.
