Renowned political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has claimed that former president Uhuru Kenyatta wanted to hand over to President William Ruto and that's why Azimio leader Raila Odinga lost.
In a tweet on Wednesday, December 14, Ngunyi asserted that Uhuru had kept his promise of having Ruto take over power after he retired.
The political analyst refuted reports that the former Prime Minister's loss in the presidency was due to some individuals in the Azimio coalition party.
"For the Nth time, Uhuru wanted to hand over to Ruto. And that is #WhyRailaLost. He made peace with the Odinga dynasty and kept the Kumi-Kumi promise. He won on two fronts. Those talking heads on NTV were in the periphery of strategy. They are nothing but political ignoramus," Ngunyi tweeted.

His remarks come after lawyer Saitabao Ole Kanchory, who served as Raila's chief agent, claimed that three people contributed to Raila's loss in the August 9, 2022, election.
Kanchory alleged that the trio failed the Azimio leader big time in their respective roles and that they had a hand in his election loss.
"Raila could not have lost this election if it was not for three people. The first one is Junet Mohamed, Joe Mucheru, and Makau Mutua," he stated.
Junet served as the secretary-general to the Azimio secretariat, while Prof. Mutua served as the spokesperson for Raila's campaign. Mucheru was the ICT Cabinet Secretary.
