Former presidential aspirant Mwangi Wa Iria has revealed that he will make a stab at the presidency in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking to the media in Murang'a on Wednesday, January 4, the former Murang'a governor said that IEBC denied him a chance to run in the last elections because he did not gather 2,000 signatures.
Wa Iria said that in 2027 he will raise over 15 million signatures of voters who will be supporting his presidential bid.
"In the August General Election, IEBC rejected my papers on claims that I did not raise 2,000 signatures which was a lie. In 2027, I will have over 15 million signatures of people who will be supporting my bid," Wa Iria stated.
The former county boss said that he will run on his Usawa Kwa Wote Party ticket, maintaining that he was never a member of the Azimio coalition.

In a July press conference last year, Wa Iria said that he had engaged it talks with Azimio leader Raila Odinga and agreed to support the former Prime Minister in the last election.
He later rallied his supporters to back Raila for presidency in the August election, demanding that the Azimio leader gives him a cabinet position.
"Raila Odinga engaged me in a 3-hour discussion and we talked man to man with mzee for three hours. He asked me if I give him my manifesto and consider it, and whether I will change my mind. I expounded to him what I think and we discussed frankly man to man," Wa Iria stated.
