Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday, January 12, hosted Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
The meeting is part of the reconciliation efforts between the Governor and the Members of the County Assembly in Meru County.
According to the Deputy President, they had a fruitful engagement with Governor Mwangaza, and all issued raised by all parties were addressed.
"I had a fruitful engagement with Gov. Kawira Mwangaza. We discussed various issues raised by all the teams in the county and the need to foster peace and a conducive work environment for service delivery in the county," Gachagua tweeted.

Prior to the meeting, the Deputy President had hosted the leadership of Meru County including MCAs, MPs, and Senator Kathuri Murungi, who is also the deputy speaker of the senate.
" I completed reaching out to all the factions of the political leadership of Meru. I first engaged the MPs and the Senator, Hon. Kathuri Murungi, who is also the deputy speaker of the senate, followed with a sitting with Members of the County Assembly," Gachagua said.
Governor Kawira was impeached by the Meru MCAs but was cleared of all charges by the Senate.
