Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pledged help to the wife of fallen Kenyan freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi.
Ailing Mama Mukami Kimathi is currently held in a Nairobi hospital where she is said not to have settled a KSh 1 million bill.
Her family had lamented that President William Ruto and his deputy had been unreachable when sought for help.
Nevertheless, the deputy president has finally confirmed knowledge of Mukami's plight and has thus promised to help.
Gachagua said that reports about the elderly woman's plight reached him while on a tour of the Luo Nyanza region with the president.

He has now instructed Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru to take charge; the DP would later visit Mukami upon his return to Nairobi.
"This matter was brought to my attention yesterday while on a working tour in Nyanza with H.E President William Ruto. In this regard, I have tasked Embakasi Central MP Hon. Benjamin Gathiru a.k.a Major Donk to look into her situation urgently.
"On my return to Nairobi later today, I will make time to visit our mother to check on her progress and assess possible interventions to make her life more comfortable. I wish her a quick recovery and God's blessings," the deputy president said.
