Narc Kenya Party Leader and Former Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Presidential running Martha Karua has fired at President William Ruto over allegations that there was a plan to kidnap and murder immediate IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati.
Karu took to her Twitter page to raise tough questions on the incident even as she sought to know why the allegations were made months after the polls.
"Why would such a serious allegation of attempted kidnap and murder of IEBC Kenya chair be made six months after the elections &Why is the allegation by Mr William Ruto a third party and not by Chebukati himself?"
"Why did Chebukati not disclose this to the court during the presidential petition or better still report the matter to the police? Six months into the Ruto regime why has no action been taken if these allegations have any iota of truth?" Karua asked.

She went on to claim that the allegations were being fronted now because the Ruto regime is seeking the legitimacy of sorts.
He called out Ruto for making such remarks labelling them as irresponsible.
"My take is that this is carefully designed propaganda by a regime desperate to gain legitimacy by spewing outrageous falsehoods aimed at hoodwinking the public while undermining its competition," Karua said.
"It is irresponsible for a leader to abuse public office to make unsubstantiated allegations against his competition and against public officers junior to him (Cherera four) to the extent of compromising the ongoing Tribunal against one of them. Is Ruto ready to record a statement," she added.
Speaking on Tuesday, January 17, during the Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices event at State House Nairobi, President Ruto revealed that some forces in the previous regime wanted to replace Chebukati at IEBC and take over the commission.
“We know that there was a direct attempt to abduct Wafula Chebukati and murder him so that the commission would be paralysed, or a compliant commissioner take over and subvert the people’s sovereignty,” Ruto claimed.
The Head of State also said that Chebukati, commissioners Guliye, Molu, and IEBC CEO Marjan were offered huge bribes and their families threatened.
"We now know that Chairman Wafula Chebukati, commissioners Abdi Yakub Guliye & Boya Molu as well as the CEO, Hussein Marjan, and their staff, were offered stupendous financial rewards to cooperate with the agents of impunity, but they bravely resisted," Ruto stated.
