The Directorate of Criminal Investigations could be on the move to probe the alleged police raid at the residence of former interior CS Fred Matiang'i.
Nairobi Leo has learnt that the DCI has moved to court seeking to compel the security firm manning the residence of the former CS to provide CCTV footage, ostensibly of the area surrounding Matiang'i's home.
The DCI in court papers claims they are investigating a case of robbery with violence in an area and therefore want the court to grant them orders to extract the CCTV footage from several security companies with CCTV in the estate.
Chief Inspector Eunice Njue told the court that footage will aid with investigations at Karen Ngong view Estate.

“This court be pleaded to issue an order compelling the manager of Bob Morgan Security to allow DCI cyber forensic expert access and extract of CCTV footage for the period February 8 from 6 pm to February 9 midday captured by CCTV installed and controlled by the security firm with Karen Ngong View estate” the application reads
Njue argued that she is investigating a case of attempted robbery where on the morning of February 9 media reported that there was a purported raid in a residential house within the estate by unknown persons alleged to be police officers.
“Preliminary investigation have established that the said residential Karen Ngong view is covered by CCTV cameras manned by Bob Morgan and therefore there is need to retrieve the same for evidential purposes,” reads court papers.
The DCI however has suffered a blow after the court declined to grant the request. The case has been set for March 7 for further hearing and directions.
The Karen Estate dominated media headlines on February 9 after it was alleged that there was a police raid at the Karen residence of Matiang'i.
Police and other state agencies however said there was no such raid.
DCI said they will crack the whip on the alleged police raid and the latest orders being sought could be a step into unpacking what really transpired on the said date.
