He will serve in the position for a period of three years with effect from March 17.

The details of his appointment emerged after President William Ruto unveiled a list of 50 Chief Administrative Secretaries with Kositany being among the big names missing.

Kositany had been shortlisted by Public Service Commission and even attended the interview.

Kositany had an interest in the Uasin Gishu governor sit in the August 9, 2022 polls but lost in the UDA primaries.

A number of key allies of President William Ruto have missed out on his latest appointment to the office of Chief Administrative Secretaries.

Former football star McDonald Mariga did not make the cut despite being shortlisted for the post.

Mariga unsuccessfully vied for Kibera parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket.
