Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed how he acquired his first land in 1989.
Gachagua said he bought a quarter of an acre in Kahawa Sukari on the outskirts of Nairobi city through installments after placing a 10% deposit.
The piece was then valued at Sh 50,000 which he didn't have to purchase it.
He placed a Sh 5,000 deposit and proceeded to finish the whole amount in installments.
The deputy president divulged that part of the deposit money were proceeds from a service he offered his friend identified as Ichangai Muiruri.

He had rented a mobile disco to Ichangai who was holding his pre-wedding and subsequent evening party.
Gachagua received a total of Sh 3,000 from his friend; he would then top up Sh 2,000 to start the process of acquiring the land.
"With the Sh 3,000 from Ichangai, I added another Sh 2,000 to place a Sh 5,000 deposit. It was a 10% deposit for a quarter of an acre plot at Kahawa Sukari in Nairobi that was then selling at Sh 50,000," he recalled.
Since getting the land, Gachagua revealed that its value had appreciated for years; he receives offers to sell it at upward of Sh 15 million.
"Today, I receive daily offers to sell the same plot for Ksh 15 million. Tumetoka mbali! Tena mbali saana," added the deputy president.
