Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sensationally claimed that there was a plot to assassinate Interior CS before President William Ruto was announced the winner of the August 9, 2022 polls.
Gachagua who was addressing ta gathering during the launch of CS Aden Duale's book at Serena Hotel on Thursday did not however reveal who was behind the plot.
He was making the remarks while detailing how President William Ruto's side battled opposition from the regime of former President Uhuru Kenyatta as they ascended to the top seat.
It is while acknowledging the president's move to reward his allies who stood with him that he said Kindiki risked his life but luckily got rewarded with a plum job.
"A man who I don't know whether he will write in his book that he was almost assassinated on August 14 is today the Minister of Interior - Professor Kithure Kindiki," he said.
