The Azimio la Umoja coalition has announced that it will hold a public engagement meeting on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi.
Addressing the media on Thursday, June 22, Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua stated, that the coalition will issue the next course of action after the consultation meeting with Kenyans.
“We have decided to invite Kenyans to a consultation at the Kamukunji grounds on Tuesday, June 27 at 10 am. Where the next course of action will be decided. Whenever as a people we have come together we have always found a solution even to our worst problems, this time will be no different. We believe that in the end, it is the people’s voices that will prevail,” Karua stated.
The Azimio principal at the same time stated that inflation will go up after the National Assembly approved the controversial Finance Bill 2023.
"Where there has been inflation, we must now prepare for hyperinflation. With the new raft of taxes approved yesterday, especially the fuel tax, we must prepare that even the little that remained of our money, will simply vanish,” she added.

Karua further commended MPs who opposed the Bill in the National Assembly saying they managed to have some sections of the Bill amended.
"To all our MPs who fought gallantly for the people in these difficult times, we salute and celebrate you. We believe Kenyans do too," said Karua.
"We celebrate the fact that whereas the regime had said not even a coma would be removed from the Bill, our MPs, with the push from millions of Kenyans were able to force the regime to accept not one, not two, but several amendments."
