The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) will on Friday announce the new costs of Petrol, diesel and Kerosene.

This follows the signing of the Finance Bill into law thus paving the way for the increment of Value Added Tax on fuel from 8 percent to 16 percent.

EPRA is mandated with setting the precise of the commodity every month.

The adjustments are often announced on the 15th of every month but with the ending Financial year, the Authority has no option to announce new prices that will be effective July 1.

The current Financial year ends June 30th.

With the increase in VAT, it is estimated that petrol would from July 1 be sold at Sh196 per litre, Sh180.4 for diesel, and Sh173 per litre for kerosene.
