The Teachers Service Commission has advertised vacancies for 20,000 intern teachers.
Of the 20,000, 18,000 will be deployed at Junior Secondary Schools while the remaining 2,000 will go to public primary schools.
The recruitment seeks to support the Competency-based Curriculum that is in its maiden year for Grade 7.
The one-year Programme is meant to equip and sustain the competencies of persons entering the teaching service. Those who finish the programme successfully will be handed a certificate.
