Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki on Friday, July 21 confirmed the raid at former President Uhuru Kenyatta's son, Jomo Kenyatta, by police officers.
In a statement to newsrooms, CS Kithure claimed that security officers conducted an operation in three homes of prominent personalities in Karen in search of crude weapons that have been used in the recent Azimio protests.
Among the homes that were raided include Jomo's home which attracted the condemnation of his father and former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Today afternoon, an operation has been going on targeting three homesteads within the Karen area where a total of 23 firearms, some of which are suspected to have been used in illegal activities are kept.
"Today's operation is part of a broader operation targeting scores of firearm holders who are reasonably suspected to be availing firearms not only for purposes of supporting violent protests but also for other illegal activities," Kindiki alleged in the statement.

The Interior CS also disclosed that a suspect was arrested on Wednesday, July 19 while preparing to distribute crude weapons to the youth across the country.
"On 19th July 2023, a prime suspect was arrested while preparing to distribute a large number of crude weapons to facilitate criminals to inflict violence on the public during the last three days of violent protests," CS Kindiki alleged.
A furious Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday evening condemned the raid at his son's home telling President William Ruto's administration to go for him instead of intimidating his family.
“What does this government want, because if it wants m, the fact that I have been silent doesn’t mean I am scare, come for me. What does my mother and children have to do with anything? Kama shida yenu ni mimi I am here.
"The issues Kenyans are talking about have nothing to do with me. Have you seen me at any of those events? Have you seen me talk about any of those events? Is it a crime in Kenya to associate with Raila? ,” Kenyatta posed.
