The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Bishops have asked President William Ruto to stop going after the Kenyatta family and to give them the respect they deserve.
Speaking to the media on Monday at the Jaramogi Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu, the Bishops led by David Kodia asked the Head of State to call Uhuru Kenyatta and have a discussion.
“We want the President to give the Kenyatta family the latitude they deserve as the former first family in this country. A phone call to the former president Uhuru Kenyatta will save this nation from such an embarrassment that we have witnessed for the last few days,” said Kodia.
He warned President Ruto that the current tension is not good for the country adding that a national conversation is needed.
“If you want to run this country based on suspicion, fear, and vendetta then no one will remain in this country. Fueling tension through reckless utterances cannot save this nation from its economic woes. A national conversation is critical for a peaceful transition,” Kodia added.

This comes after officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations raided the home of Uhuru’s son in Karen.
Speaking about the incident on Monday, Uhuru alleged that the officers wanted to plant guns and drugs during the raid.
"I believe they wanted to plant drugs and guns in my son's compound,” the former Head of State claimed.
The government last week also recalled the security officers manning former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta’s homes in Muthaiga and Ichaweri forcing the family to hire private security officers.
