Lawyer Miguna Miguna has chided the government over move to take some of its security offficers to Haiti to help in the restoration of law and order.
The lawyer in a tweet termed the move as public relations stunt saying it defeats logic for Kenya to deploy it's officers there yet it is in dire need of security.
Miguna listed events that unfolded in the country in the last few months saying they are a testament to Kenya's dire security situation.
According to Miguna, Kenya is battling enough security challenges that should be prioritized rather than sending it's officers to Haiti.
"The Kenya Police could not contain three weeks of maandamano. The insecurity in Kerio Valley, northern Kenya, and Lamu are ongoing," Miguna's tweet read in part.

"Why do we like public relations over concrete contributions?"
The lawyer went on to say that sending security officers to Haiti is a move akin to punching above ones weight.
He said Kenya can help Haiti through other means of agitating for their grievances other than deploying its officers.
"Let’s focus on our country but help Haiti by articulating and championing Haitians’ interests at the UN and other international fora," his tweet added.
CS Alfred Mutua said the move to deploy the Kenyan officers is to stabilise the situation in the said country and train a proper Haitian police force.
Mutua said the people of Haiti had suffered enough, and Kenya felt a responsibility to help its brothers and sisters in the African Diaspora.
Haiti welcomed ''with great interest'' Kenya's offer to lead a multinational force to restore order.
Haiti Foreign Minister Jean Victor Geneus said he appreciated the expression of African solidarity on the matter.
