Lawyer Miguna Miguna has reiterated his outright opposition against any constitutional amendments.
In a statement on Twitter on Tuesday, the Lawyer said it amounts to betrayal for President William Ruto to be behind the amendments saying he campaigned on the premise of putting development first.
"In 2022, before the general elections, President William Ruto kept asking Kenyans: “Mnataka tubadilishe uchumi au tubadilishe katiba?” Kenyans roared - Uchumi! Uchumi! Uchumi,," Miguna tweeted.
"This was one of those popular rallying cries that propelled William Ruto to the presidency."
The firebrand lawyer went on to say that constitutional amendment should not be a priority adding that priority should be put on the economy.

He said any constitutional amendment would be opposed as that would amount to a betrayal of the people by the Kenya Kwanza government.
Miguna said President Ruto is yet to fix the economy one year after taking office adding that he should maintain focus on it.
"Just one year after the 2022 general elections, with uchumi still in tatters, with the Shilling nearly worthless as against the US Dollar, and the cost of living in the stratosphere, we cannot support another wrong-headed, politically divisive, and costly constitutional change initiative.
"Attempting #BBI 2 would be a betrayal of the people! We say a firm No!"
The remarks by Miguna come after a group led by PLO Lumumba said they will be launching a signature collection exercise for the amendment of the constitution.
