A man suspected to be the mastermind of mass phone theft in Nairobi has been arrested.
During the operation, detectives recovered hundreds of mobile phones believed to have been stolen.
The suspect Jeremiah Mbugua, who operates a second-hand mobile phone shop at Califonia house along Gaberone Street was arrested following a raid at his shop where the alleged stolen phones were found.
"Also recovered were a software installation device, external storage devices and universal flushing device interface gadgets popularly known as ndongois," DCI said in a statement posted on its social media handles on Thursday.

The suspect is currently in custody assisting detectives with investigations pending further legal process.
Phone theft in the city has been one of the major problems that have contributed to insecurity and cases of mugging.
Many Kenyans are targeted in the city by thieves who are after their electronic gadgets for sale.
