Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Industry Moses Kuria has decried the runaway cases of impeachment facing the Mt Kenya region.
In a statement on his X platform, the CS said the region is seemingly emerging as a region where governors are impeached most.
His remarks come amidst a determined plot to impeach Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza from office.
"In the last term, Kiambu County from Mt Kenya region made history by becoming the first county to successfully impeach a Governor. In this term, Meru County In Mt Kenya region is determined to become the first County to successfully impeach the Governor," the CS said.
Kuria went on to ask the Mt Kenya region to stop the vice as it has no economic value for the region.

He questioned why it is only the Mt Kenya region that is keen on kicking out their governors when other regions are focused on service delivery.
"Unless impeachment has something to do with the soils, altitude or climatic conditions, it is necessary for the Mt Kenya region to give other regions an opportunity to impeach their Governors in the spirit of inclusivity, diversity and national cohesion. My two Cents," the CS added.
Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu became the first county boss to be successfully kicked out of office in the history of devolution.
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko would later become the second governor to be impeached, a development that saw him barred from vying for public office in the 2022 elections.
As it stands, Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza is staring at a second impeachment in 10 months after the first was quashed by the Senate Assembly.
The MCAs have vowed to kick her out again over allegations of failed leadership.
Several governors have also faced impeachment but they have been saved by the Senate or the courts.
