Mt Kenya University has suspended one of its students following a viral video of him insulting lecturers and underrating the importance of University education.
The student identified as Job Onyango has been suspended until January for the incident following a disciplinary meeting held regarding his conduct.
Onyango was filmed dismissing education saying it has no help in making one rich.
While sampling some questions from an exam paper, Onyango queried how mastering exam questions can make one rich.
"This is an exam paper, so tell me how is this going to make you rich? Okay, you have defined data collection, good. I know you define terms well, but now tell me how is it going to make you rich?" he posed.

He went on to chide his lecturers by pointing out that they were driving vehicles he deemed as not worthy of having pursued education to the higher levels.
According to Onyango, he is pursuing an education to please his parents.
In consequence, the MKU has suspended the student and summoned him to shed light on accusations of inciting other students.
"The University Disciplinary Committee has summoned you to answer to the charge of inciting fellow students and other members of the community to commit offences," read the suspension letter in part.
"The committee resolved to suspend you from school for one semester (September/December 23). You are expected to report back in January 2024."
MKU has termed the disciplinary action as a final warning adding that in the event he repeats the mistake, he will be expelled from school.
