An event organised by Bomet woman representative Linet Toto on Saturday, October 28, was marred with chaos after groups rallying behind Governor Hillary Barchok and Senator Hillary Sigei clashed.
Toto was presiding over the launch of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) countywide projects and Women's Economic Empowerment (WE) at the Bomet Green Stadium where a host of political leaders showed up.
According to sources, the chaos was fired up after South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro castigated the divisions in the rift region where groups were aligned with different leaders.
Osoro while belittling the local formations said President William Ruto was the only reigning kingpin, not only in Rift Valley, but throughout the country.
"We are not interested in regional kingpins at this moment. We only have one countrywide kingpin and he is President William Ruto. We don't have kingpins from small areas," said Osoro.

The MP's speech was disrupted by a section of the attendees who started shouting, forcing him to give up the microphone.
The noise graduated by the second as the crowd went out of hand.
Both the governor and the senator could not get the chance to address the attendees of the event; they apparently left in a huff in their convoys.
Osoro was also forced to leave the venue in the company of other leaders.
However, while overlooking the events, Toto took to social media to celebrate the success of the event.
She took pride in the unity of the leaders who showed up to support her initiative.
"The launch of NGAAF countywide projects and Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) at Bomet Green Stadium was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and collaborative spirit of our esteemed leaders," Toto said.
