President William Ruto on Monday, November 27, chaired a cabinet meeting at State House, Nairobi, on El Nino response.
The emergency cabinet meeting comes as the rains wreak havoc across the country. The rains have claimed lives, displaced families, and destroyed property and infrastructure.
The Head of State on Saturday announced that 70 people had died across the country due to the floods occasioned by the rains and about 36,160 households displaced.
"Taking into account the situation in the country, the Cabinet will meet to deliberate on the various recommendations made to ensure the country is better prepared for the management of the situation unfolding currently," remarked Ruto.
