This is the second time that Judge Nzioka has postponed the verdict.

The High Court on Friday, December 14 once again postponed delivering the judgment in the murder case involving former Citizen TV news presenter Jacque Maribe and Joshua Irungu alias Jowie.

While postponing the judgment, Justice Grace Nzioka explained she received exhibits from the prosecution on Thursday night and that she would need more time to go through them.

“I am very sorry to all the parties, I received the exhibits very late, I received them last night, I have not prepared the judgment,” Justice Nzioka stated.

She also noted that the exhibits could not be sent by courier services due to their nature as she was in Naivasha, and the exhibits were in Nairobi.

The High Court judge pushed the delivery of the judgment up to January 26, 2024.

This is the second time Justice Nzioka has pushed the delivery of the judgment. On October 6, she moved the judgment to December 15 saying she was feeling unwell.

“I am not in a position to deliver the judgment as scheduled. I will allocate it a fresh date,” said Justice Nzioka on October 6.

Maribe and Jowie are accused of murdering late businesswoman Monica Kimani who was found dead with her throat slit at her Lamuria Gardens Apartment in Kilimani in September 2018.

The prosecution lined up 35 witnesses who testified against the two ex-lovers.
