The High Court has yet again postponed the judgment on the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Speaking on Friday, January 26, Justice Grace Nzioka said she was informed that former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe was feeling unwell and could not appear before the court.
Justice Nzioka noted that she cannot deliver the ruling until all parties are physically produced in court.
“There was no provision made for a virtual delivery today and if you tell me, you are unwell, I don’t know where you are as I am delivering the judgment and a judgment is court proceedings, the integrity thereof must be observed. The option of virtual today may not work, I would rather have an open court appearance,” Justice Nzioka stated.
The High Court Judge was forced to postpone the judgment verdict until Friday, March 15, 2024.

Justice Nzioka noted that she had a busy schedule in the remaining part of January and the whole of February.
“My earliest date will be March 15, 2024, unless a date just opens up and we notify you earlier. I will need adequate time to deliver this judgment,” she added.
This is the third time Justice Nzioka has pushed the delivery of the judgementt in the case involving Maribe and Joshua Irungu alias Jowie.
The ruling was supposed to be made on October 6, 2023, but Justice Nzioka postponed it to December 15 saying she was feeling unwell.
On December 15, Nzioka again postponed the ruling noting that she received exhibits from the prosecution and needed more time to go through them.
Maribe and Jowie are accused of murdering the late Monica Kimani who was found dead with her throat slit at her Lamuria Gardens Apartment in Kilimani in September 2018.
